The net can either help or hurt your job hunt - it's up to you.

A modern job search campaign is by nature very intricate. While the net has offered a variety of new channels, it also creates increased competition for choice jobs and potential challenges for job hunters.

Job search needs to be thought of as a personal, very directed marketing operation where you are the product. Your resume is an advertisement. Your extended network of colleagues is your source for job leads.

So where does the web fit in? At AA-Careers, we just posted a job on a popular job site and got over 650 responses in a calendar week. For a single position. That’s increased competition for jobs.

Had a strong person gotten ahold of us before we posted the ad, they could have gotten the position prior to getting all that competition. How? By finding an employee at our office who became aware of the job prior to posting. Everyone knew about of the job for at least 13 days before it was posted. Who in your network might know of a job that’s coming available soon?

Be careful to check your application materials thoroughly before submitting them. When we did an analysis of the 650 resumes, we found a large number of errors. 63% of the applicants were easily taken out with a fast-paced triage process. How? The same way any HR professional would. By eliminating resumes where the objective didn’t match our position description. By passing over candidates whose cover letters gave us grounds not to engage them, like "I know I’m overqualified but I really need a job". By eliminating prospects whose documents that didn’t open properly. And by rejecting prospects who didn’t trouble to spell check their cover letter and/or resume.

So the good news is that job sites give you a sense of who is hiring, and for what kinds of positions. But once those jobs are posted, the competition is intense. You can still try, if you have a well honed resume, designed to appeal directly and clearly to the recruiter. And if you have practiced interviewing – so you don’t stumble at a critical point.

Another issue to be aware of is how quickly and easily you can be looked up on the internet. As we Googled several candidates, we ran into some Facebook comments that were in questionable taste. Nothing illegal, but enough to tilt our thinking about who to hire.

AA-Careers provides a all-inclusive set of services for Bay Area job seekers, providing our clients a personal career consultant, a managed job hunting campaign, modern tools like a personal website, video, highly targeted resume, and much more. Let us know if we can help you.

Be careful out there, and good hunting!

Affiliate marketing is a lot like an auction house. Your web site features assorted good and services in return, you receive a percentage from every transaction. There is less work required, very low overheads, it works 24 hours a day, and it's so easy to master

This type of marketing is akin to an auction website. Your website promotes merchandise for this, every last purchase pulls in cash. It isn’t as much effort, fewer overheads, it works twenty four hours a day, and it is easy to learn.

The very first step you have to take is to make a choice as to just what niche market you’d like to work in. To accomplish this, find out solutions to problems a specific set of net users are anticipating, and what solutions will help them. An efficient way of doing this is to search for unique sets of highly specific longtail keywords or phrases; by and large people look for these less, even so more of these convert.

Please take a look at our very good site for Adwords Miracle facts and feedback info…

These important keywords can be rooted out by using Micro Niche Finder. Selective Information generated by this program or analogous applications or computer software makes a listing of associated terminology which you can focus on in order to get top placing on the web based search engines.

Further information is supplied by the application, such as how many searches every word or phrase gets, just how many different web sites are exploiting them, and how good the competition is. Lastly, the info created will help in finding related domains, content for your site, and point out suitable products for you to sell. Next you need to put together a site; however there are still crucial things to do. It is essential to fine tune your website to better your ranking on the search engines. This is where SEO Elite information comes in. Competing internet sites are examined by SEO Elite information which then provides suggestions to better search results.

In SEO Elite the info produced by the program advises you on links, what words to concentrate on, and a list of article submission web sites to use. In Brief, SEO Elite information is the same kind of information you might receive when you consult a practised SEO professional. When you settle on your niche, have some product promotion, and your internet site has been constructed, then you are ready to get your site up in the search results. You’ll pick up regular payments and you will wonder why you always struggled to make enough money!

It has been well noted recently that one of the highest growth areas of lending is ‘buy now pay later’ finance available in major retailers such as electrical retailer BrightHouse. People making use of low or no interest deals are shopping prudently and making their cash go further by spreading the cost of high-value essentials such as settees and consumer goods over a period of time. With the downturn in high-street spending, it seems that every shop is getting in on the act and offering tempting finance deals.

But what if you didn’t have the pick of these retailers? If your credit history (or lack of), the fact you were on government handouts or your age prevented you from applying for these great bargains?

You could turn to a specialist rent-to-own store, a company that rents all sorts of goods from games consoles to digital radios with pay weekly, monthly or upfront options. A company such as BrightHouse. With over 150 shops so far, it’s the biggest such chain in the country.

The problem is, it’s not exactly a cheap option although it is a great bargain, this chain offers a very reasonable rate, however it doesn’t include extras like the optional service cover which most customers take out. In the end, you may up paying a bit more than the cash price for the item.
With buy now pay later increasing in popularity now the credit crunch has taken hold, BrightHouse took advantage and, during the summer, ran a nine week intensive advertising campaign including TV commercials and a leaflet drop and employed- for the first time- TNT’s Home-in Targeting postcode modelling tool for precise targeting. It was very effective, with the chain thriving and planning on adding multiple stores during 2009.

BrightHouse head of marketing Alan Beesley said ‘Brand awareness of BrightHouse has grown rapidly thanks largely to our TV activity, which comprises of advertising and sponsorship of the Trisha Goddard Show. As we continue to open in new locations across the UK our highly targeted spring marketing campaign will support our growth by promoting the brand as a customer-friendly weekly payment store.’
Tangentially to this increase in awareness however, has materialized an inevitable rise in unhappy shoppers. The company recently made the headlines when it was investigated by BBC radio 1’s Newsbeat programme.

I’ve always had a sweet tooth, so when the sugar substitute, Equal, came along, I was an early adopter.

Of course, the only problem with Equal is the price per packet, which I believe is about three times as expensive as the next well-known brand, the one in the pink wrappers. Naturally, I have to have expensive tastes. To me, the blue stuff tastes better.

For years, I’ve been buying Equal in the restaurant size box, with 2500 packets. This lasts me for months, and it brings the price in line with the pink stuff. But now, the wholesale to the public market I use never seems to have it in stock.

I’ve tried three different locations in the same day, hunting for it, to no avail. I’ve interrogated stockers, asking them when shipments were due. It’s getting to the point that I think it may be easier to find a large, cheap, rent controlled apartment in Manhattan.

Down the street is a unit of Trader Joe’s, a small boutique market. They don’t have Equal, but they do have a customer service philosophy. When you reach the register, they ask, “Did you find what you wanted?” and they seem genuinely interested in hearing and responding to your answer.

They believe if they don’t have your item in stock at the time you need it, they messed up and should make inventory adjustments. The other place, which I’ll call Discount Barn, treats you as if you’re a hapless fool who just seems to choose the wrong time to come in.

It’s your dumb luck that you can’t snare one of these elusive boxes, so buy a bunch of smaller packages and pay four times as much.

I’m at the point where I’m going to call Equal, the company, and learn if I have a chance to get the big boxes elsewhere.

Failing this, I may just have to drop this item from my diet, because trying to find it, while encountering such poor service, is leaving a bitter taste in my mouth.
