Table Image

Table images are usually misunderstood-many people think that a table image, whether you are perceived as loose, tight, aggressive, passive, or any combination therein, reflects how you actually play poker. It has much less to do with how you play than it does with how others think that you play.

Cultivating your table image is an essential part of being an effective poker player-making others perceive you the way you want them to is a valuable asset when you aim to win. If you set up a table to think of you as a loose-aggressive player, making a show of bluffing with lousy cards, they will have to qualms about calling you or even raising your bets, which comes in handy when you’ve got a great hand.

If you set up your table image on the other extreme, as a tight-passive player, you’ll have an opposite effect on your opponents. If they think that you hate to bet and will only play the best starting hands, any bet on your part will most likely result in folds all the way around the table. This leaves your online poker enemies susceptible to your bluffing attempts as long as you can keep up your image.
